Street Fighter 6

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4
Release date: June 2

The sixth iteration in the massive Street Fighter franchise is nearly upon us. Published by Japanese-owned video game company Capcom, Street Fighter 6 features three game modes.

There’s still the classic ‘Fighting Ground’ for old-school Street Fighter action with training and arcade modes. The two new ones include a new campaign called ‘World Tour,’ a single-player story mode featuring a customizable player avatar exploring 3D environments and ‘Battle Hub’ for some multiplayer gameplay where you can compete in ranked or casual matches and battle using your created avatars.

Diablo IV

Platforms: PS5 and PS4
Release date: June 6

This is the much-awaited return of the Diablo franchise and the fourth installment in the Diablo series. Now, it’s bringing necromancers with it—the final and fifth new class for the title. Expect more monsters, more abilities, and legendary loot among other surprises.

According to developer Blizzard Entertainment, Diablo IV will also offer up special PvP (player vs player) areas and 50 individual accessibility options like Dexterity Assistance, Vision Assistance, and Text Assistance for an even better, smoother, and a more inclusive gameplay experience.

Final Fantasy XVI

Platforms: PS5
Release date: June 22

The 35-year-old role-playing blockbuster franchise from Naoki Yoshida of Square Enix is back with its 16th installment! If you’re a big fan of epic worlds and heroic stories of the Final Fantasy realm just like we are, this reinvented iteration’s for you.

Set in the world of Valisthea, a high, medieval, gothic fantasy type of land studded with ‘Mothercrystals,’ the game lets you take control of protagonist Clive Rosfield and a rotating posse of of AI-controlled companions. Combat revolves around a combination of melee and magic attacks, with Clive ending up in battles with summoned monsters called Eikons. The game has two modes: a story mode, which offers accessories to combat and strengthen your characters and a normal mode for a more challenging gameplay.

P.S. According to reviewers who were able to preview the game, Final Fantasy XVI is a “fascinating mix of Devil May Cry and Game of Thrones,” but still retains the familiar soul of the original PS2 game. Count us in!

So, go ahead, and mark your calendars for these highly anticipated titles—and pre-order now (for free!) via the SM Malls Online app so you don’t miss out. Remember: Pre-order ends on the release date of each title.
